UNO es el séptimo disco de su carrera que incluye doce canciones inéditas, entre ellas los tres primeros singles lanzados recientemente, “Febril Remanso”, “Al menos un segundo” y “Los peones de la guerra”
UNO fue producido por el artista carioca Alexandre Kassin. El material se grabó en Río de Janeiro, con tomas adicionales en Montevideo y Buenos Aires. UNO cuenta además con la co-producción de Dany López y Gonzalo Gutiérrez, de Uruguay, y del porteño Matías Cella. A diferencia de sus discos anteriores, donde la presencia de la ciencia y la filosofía tenían un espacio preponderante, en “UNO” aparece la mirada sensible de un artista que busca vivir su vida en una dimensión poética. Las canciones de “UNO” tienen una fuerte impronta del pulso rítmico de Montevideo, pero a su vez el disco es una encrucijada entre la música de raíz afro del Río de la Plata y el universo percusivo y armónico carioca. Participaron en la grabación renombrados músicos de los tres países, como Marcos Suzano, David Moraes, Domenico Lacelloti, Leo Reis, Ana Prada y Martín Ibarburu, por citar algunos.
Los temas de “UNO” fueron compuestos en su mayoría entre 2015 y 2016 durante numerosas giras de Daniel Drexler por el mundo, entre vuelos, cuartos de hotel y camarines de teatros. A lo largo de las doce canciones que contiene el disco –de las cuales ocho son de autoría exclusiva–, aparece una nueva faceta del músico. A diferencia de sus álbumes anteriores, donde la presencia de la ciencia y la filosofía tenían un espacio preponderante (Daniel también se formó como médico e investigador), en “UNO” aparece la mirada sensible de un artista que busca vivir su vida en una dimensión poética.
